Discussion: Which New Releases are YOU Excited About?

Discussion: Which New Releases are YOU Excited About?

Happy Monday, folks!

Today marks the third day of the 2019 IPCPR Trade Show in Las Vegas, and the last full day of the show. As I’m watching the interviews and press releases drop, I’m really curious about what’s moved your excitement dial during this event:

What are you looking forward to MOST from this year’s Trade Show?

If you haven’t caught up on all the news yet from this year’s show, here are a few links to help get you started:

Halfwheel

Cigar Coop

Blind Man’s Puff

Myself, I’m absolutely stoked to try the new Guardian of the Farm Nightwatch!  I’m still waiting to get a fair assessment of the Signature Selection Maduro, but I think it just needed a little more time.  If it works well with my tastes now that it’s spent a month or so in the humi, I know the new Nightwatch will be a slam dunk as well since they’re using the same maduro wrapper on each.

Also, I just spent some time the other evening with the Las Calaveras 2019 and was very happy with it! That makes me even more pumped to try La Coalicion from Jon Huber and Willie Herrera.

And have you heard about RoMa Craft’s new Baka series?  They’ve been using Cameroon tobacco for a while now, but usually as a binder.  Baka will feature Cameroon prominently as a wrapper and is named after the Baku peoples.  There’s something about their clean lines and color coordination that has me wanting to try Baka no questions asked.

I’m also very excited about the new Taino Heritage as well as the 2012 vintage Serino Royale coffins from Serino Cigar Co!  If you haven’t smoked Serino yet, I can’t recommend it enough that you give ‘em a try with their sampler.  I was a little late to loving the Taino due to allergies, but it’s since become a staple in my humidor along with everything else they do.  And considering the Serino Royale Maduro XX and Medio are still among my favorite smokes, I can’t wait to get my hands on a 9 ¼ experience with vintage tobacco!

Lastly, I’d be remiss if I said I wasn’t looking forward to the new Flor del Valle Seleccion de Valle. I’m a sucker for a 109 cap, and the extra beefiness to this cigar seems like it’ll perform well with Flor del Valle.  Also, if I’m honest with myself, I’m a little too curious about the new Skyflower tracking mechanism that Kyle Gellis implemented in order to be verifiable with our smartphones.

What about you!?  What are you amped to see hit the shelves in the coming weeks and months?

Sobremesa Brûlée, Baka and the Taino Heritage are first on the try list. The fist Taino is one of my favorites, so excited to try this version. Had not heard about the new Roma Craft until this article, but sounds like a winner with Cameroon wrapper. A mild and creamy cigar from Saka sounds very interesting. Hope to try as many of the new releases by way of the great samplers that SBC puts together!

RoMa Craft Baka, Neanderthal Box pressed, GOTF Nightwatch, Saka, Flor De Valle. Hell of a lineup this year

Very interested in The Highclere Castle Victorian. The Edwardian is a masterpiece. I can't imagine The Victorian would be let out of the box as anything but stellar.

I agree the GOTF looks good but I am super excited about that BAKA! and mostly the Tat ME and ME II! I need to get my hands on those for sure.

I’m excited about Halfwheel’s 2018 cigar of the year Joya’s Numero Uno / the Ambassador.  Originally rolled for the  Nicaraguan Government given only to international diplomats; I was hypnotized by Halfwheel’s reporter Patrick claiming the cigar transcendent standing head and shoulders above other cigars.  Rolled in traditional 6 x 44 size, the Cigar has a unique flavor profile different from what we  have come to know from JOYA.  Sold in a coffin, box of 10 there are only 1,000 boxes.  Andrew, don’t come home without your order! 😁

The main lines I am excited about are:
-Roma Baka
-Tatuage ME
-Serino Taíno Heritage
-GOTF Nightwatch
And maybe the DTT Brulee depending on the price.
7/5/2019 9:42 AM
BOTL and La Coalición.

Congrats to Brandon, and thanks to everyone for participating!

I'm going with the new Warped Flor del Valle ... Kyle has done some really interesting things with his line lately, so this should be interesting. Can he maintain ... Or has the focus slipped. And of course, the RoMa Cameroon. It's a neat leaf and there was a time -- back in the stone ages -- when it was fairly limited.
