ELADIO DIAZ BEFORE & AFTER REVIEW – DOM

Summary: An eyebrow raises as my initial puffs bring on spicy cornflakes in buttermilk.  The longer I smoke however, the less it tastes like a hungover bachelor’s breakfast and the more it tastes like crispy fried chicken.  After tapping the ash, I get smacked in the face by a bouquet of flowers like a desperate single lady at a cousin’s wedding.  Semisweet chocolate and bamboo keep my tastebuds alive and kung fu kicking.

In the second half, strawberries steal the show.  Man, this is a fun cigar if you’re an adventurous cat who likes to walk on the wild side.

Summary: This cigar brought notes of wood, cocoa, cream, graham cracker, caramel, and a mint note that was occasionally interesting and occasionally contrasting.

Construction was on point with no issues.

ELADIO DIAZ BEFORE & AFTER REVIEW – BENECIA

Summary: Aww man, the overwhelming cedar sucked all the moisture from my palate and no amount of water saved me. Once I get mid second-third, it gets creamy. Still woody, toasty, and dry like walnuts. There was a sweet undertone but not enough to salvage this aftertaste.

If You Like That, You Might Like This: Licking your humidor drawer

Pairing Suggestion: Sparkling water

Perceived Strength: Mild

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: Single

Participants in this blind review were completely unaware of the cigar they were evaluating until all submissions were received and processed. Each participant was asked to answer a summary paragraph, an if/than statement, a pairing suggestion, and a purchase suggestion. Cigars were provided by Small Batch with only the expectations of candid responses. All pictures, information, and formatting were completed by a Coordinator outside of the reviewing process.
