Everyone knows that Sir Winston Churchill had his favorite cigar, but what about Jack Frost? As the colder months set in, it’s important to have a collection of smaller cigars on hand to take advantage of a sunny afternoon or warm spell in the winter.
There are so many wonderful petite coronas and coronas to choose from, but here are a few of my favorite cigars that I look forward to whenever the temps are above 40 degrees. And if you also have some favorites please drop us a comment below!
Xhaxhi Bobi Mi Hermano
I’m enjoying this cigar as I write this, and every time I fire one of these Red Labels up I wonder why I don’t smoke many, many more of them. I knew from the very first puff in Afghanistan a few years ago that this blend was timeless and the Kelner family’s ability to make it so consistently just adds to my belief.

Oliva Serie V No. 4
Speaking of timeless blends, no conversation would be complete without Oliva’s Serie V. This is one of the few cigars that holds up perfectly to a multitude of different pairings and would be a treat with anything from hot cocoa to whiskey to cocktails. We are currently living in the golden age of cigars with exciting blends being created every day, but the Serie V will always have staying power.

Aladino Corojo Reserva No. 4
Another instant classic, Aladino’s Corojo Reserva is a sophisticated experience! These are very balanced cigars with every tasting note having plenty of time to shine. I’m often reminded of how fortunate we are to see tobaccos used from all over the world in each humidor, but the Aladino Corojo Reserva is a different kind of feat and only uses Honduran Corojo leaves!

Padrón 1926 #35
No matter how cold it is outside, there’s no stopping this flavor train! This size was originally named because it was a 35-minute experience, but I routinely enjoy these for about an hour and savor every second of it. The Padrón 1926 portfolio is big and bold yet this petite corona shows notable grace in the delivery. These pair with anything from Booker’s bourbon to espresso to a warm bowl of chili on the deck.

My Father Fonseca Petite Corona
Once upon a time, Pepin and Jaime Garcia rolled Fonseca cigars in Baez, Cuba. When they acquired the Fonseca brand in 2019, it was with a lot of fanfare that the world awaited to see how they would add their My Father touch to it knowing their history. The result was something very special, and a cigar that I’ll often light on the best days with a cup of coffee and sparkling water.
