Melillo chose the name Grasshopper because of the origin of the word used to describe cigars. Cigarral translates to Grasshopper, and this name became the root word for cigars as grasshopper fields began growing tobacco. 

We’ve always been big fans of Melillo and the sensory journey that he takes all of us on with his brand. Grasshopper specifically caught our eye because it’s not often that you get to enjoy each components of a barber pole cigar.
