Small Batch Cigar is excited to announce HSC Hugo by Warped Cigars as our newest Small Batch
Exclusive! This cigar holds a special place in our hearts since it was conceptualized and named for
Andrew’s firstborn son, Hugo Somogyi Considine.
Somogyi comes from Noelle Considine’s great grandfather pictured on each box. A Hungarian-
American professor, Dr. Michael Somogyi prepared the first insulin treatment for children with diabetes in the United States in 1922.
The medallions on each band proudly display an Irish Harp, the California grizzly bear, and the
Hungarian coat of arms to pay homage to Hugo’s ancestry. Hugo HSC was rolled in 2021, boxed with
his birth year of 2022, and will be released today for his first birthday.
The blend consists of an Habano wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder with Dominican fillers, creating a
bolder yet graceful blend that has staying power for when Hugo is of age to enjoy his first cigar.
Andrew, our Head Cigar Smoker, says: “While trying to grasp the vastness of bringing a child into
this world, I found space to reflect while working with Kyle and Hostos. It's rather daunting to create
something around such a special person or event but like many things in life, you learn, and you grow.
This is my first attempt at what I hope is many more releases bearing his namesake. I want him to look
back on his family’s journey, know how cherished he is, and feel empowered to be and do more. I hope
the artwork and experience created in HSC Hugo inspire him to reflect on all of life’s wonderful moments
when he starts his own family.”
