DIAS DE GLORIA REVIEW – CALIFORNIA

Summary:  Brown sugar and cedar get this box-pressed stick rolling.  There's a bit of a bamboo brightness in the retro hale that works well with the sweetness on the palate.  Cream coming in hot with some more woody notes as well.

The second third features herbs and baking spices.  Man, this good.  More brown sugar.

Into the final third, the complexity has unfortunately dissipated.  Perfect construction throughout, I just needed a little more pizzazz at the finish to warrant a box purchase.

If You Like That, You Might Like This:  Baking a delicious cake, but forgetting to butter the pan.

Pairing Suggestion:  Coffee.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend:  Fiver.

Blind Cigar Reviews: AJ Fernandez Dias de Gloria

DIAS DE GLORIA REVIEW – WISCONSIN

Summary:  We've got a box-pressed cigar this week. It brought bold flavors of earth, pepper, spice, and brown sugar. It also included slight sweetness, caramel, cocoa, and occasional anise.

It went out after about an inch and needed touch-ups throughout. So, make sure your lighter is filled before you light this one up.

If You Like That, You Might Like This:  A big bold cigar and a love for using your lighter.

Pairing Suggestion:  Rum.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend:  Single.

DIAS DE GLORIA REVIEW – OREGON

Summary:  This soft box-pressed beauty visually screams quality.  Let’s see if it passes muster.  Maple, bran flakes and leather on the cold draw with barnyard and maple from the wrapper.

Solely on construction, this cigar is already earning high marks with its razor-sharp burn and solid ash.  Beautiful to look at.  Flavors include mild floral and coffee notes with leather and cedar rolling around as well.  The retro hale is smooth, carrying a bit of heat in the form of red pepper flakes.  The cedar and floral flavors are more pronounced in the retro hale as well.

Heading towards the middle of this stick and the flavors have taken a turn for sure.  Lots of citrus and vegetal flavors along with mild wood and leather notes.  Occasionally I taste mild spices dancing around the profile as well.  The retro hale is still smooth and is heavily accented with floral notes.  Great smoke production and burn!

This cigar is finishing up with flavors of strong, black tea, heavy floral notes and cedar.  The retro hale is also heavy with cedar and a touch of sweetness.

If You Like That, You Might Like This:  Darts at the pub.

Pairing Suggestion:  Rum.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend:  5-pack.

Cigars were provided by Small Batch with only the expectations of candid responses. All pictures, information, and formatting were completed by a Coordinator outside of the reviewing process.
