PIER 28 CONNECTICUT REVIEW – CALIFORNIA
Summary: Tea on the cold draw. Hay and cream. Cloves! There's a slightly drying mouthfeel, but nothing a few sips of water can't assuage.
Moving into the second third and the flavors transition to tootsie roll for a hot second, then perfumy potpourri. These flavors are all over the map in a good way.
The final third reminds me of buttered toast. Sweetness comes to the forefront at the end to wrap things up with a bow on top.
If You Like That, You Might Like This: A trusty barber who provides great cuts and conversation.
Pairing Suggestion: Peach tea.
Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: Fiver.

PIER 28 CONNECTICUT REVIEW – WISCONSIN
Summary: This cigar brought notes of cedar, nuts, hay, black tea, and a light pepper. At different points in the cigar, it seemed to alternate between sourness in some puffs, then quite a bit more creaminess to balance it out, then back to the sourness, and repeat. I enjoyed the creamy notes. Later in the cigar, the sourness was replaced with a grassy note, which was quite a bit more pleasant. Near the end, a note that reminded me of a combination of chocolate & cherry joined in.
I had no complaints at all about the construction. The draw was great, it burned well, and it was effortless to smoke. Well-made cigar. The flavors just weren't my cup of tea. Maybe they'll be yours!
If You Like That, You Might Like This: Trying different types of tea.
Pairing Suggestion: Rum.
Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: Single - this will be some people's jam though!

PIER 28 CONNECTICUT REVIEW – OREGON
Summary: If you’ve ever had whipped honey, that’s exactly what the wrapper on this cigar smells like. Lovely. Perfect cold draw resistance and just basic flavors of straw and mild tobacco in the draw notes. Let’s get a flame introduced.
Coffee, cream, oak, mixed nuts and mild floral notes get the game started. Lots of great smoke churning from this cigar. Picking up some white pepper on the palate now along with stronger floral notes. The retro hale smoke is really smooth and heavy with cream, leather, oak and some pepper spice heat as well.
Midway through this cigar and the stage is set with notes of leather, oak and floral creaminess. I’m typically not a huge fan of floral cigars but this one has some great balance in the overall mixture. Keeping pace with the pack, the peppery notes remain in balance as well. Mechanically, things have been maintenance free thus far, A+.
Finishing up this week’s smoke with more creamy notes of leather, oak and nuts. However, the last third left the floral profile notes in the past and replaced it with much more pronounced pepper. I’m a fan. I wish there'd have been some bigger profile shifts, but overall, a very enjoyable smoke.
If You Like That, You Might Like This: Traditional meat and potato dinners.
Pairing Suggestion: Sweet Tea.
Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: 5-pack.
