There comes a time in any cigar enthusiasts’ journey that a sacred cigar is damaged and needs salvaging. Maybe something that’s rare, expensive, or unavailable for purchase any more. Most often, the damage comes by way of the wrapper cracking along the head or foot of the cigar. The good news is that these cracks can be patched up quickly and with minimal fuss or mess with cigar glue.
My Favorite Cigar Glue
My personal favorite cigar glue available to consumers is the PerfecRepair glue. You can buy it directly from their website or pay a little more for it on Amazon, although I haven’t investigated out the door costs with shipping.
This adhesive combines natural cigar glue (what they use in Cigar Factories) that your cigar already has with food-grade microscopic vegetable fibers sourced in the U.S. that quickly bridge any gap and repair the wrapper in almost every occasion. It doesn’t taste like anything, and you’ll never know it’s there after fixing your problem.
Even if you apply the glue on top of the wrapper like I did the first couple times I fixed a split head, it isn’t noticeable as long as you let it dry first.

When I Use It Most
I use cigar glue the most on Torpedoes and Belicosos that need an extra chop or two to find the right draw for me. It seems like the wrapper almost always fights me on these sizes, and sometimes you can’t just rip off the excess and let it fly. Sometimes, you need to correct a factory mistake and add some glue where it should’ve been.
With cigar glue, as long as you have some time to wait for it to try, you can fix wayward wrapper leaves and enjoy your cigar in peace. This cigar glue dries quickly, and even repairing something at the head of the cigar only needs about 20 minutes to be ready to go. Of course, I’ve also fired up some cigars after just waiting a handful of minutes and it still performed better than without the glue.
I also find myself using it on cigars with foot damage if I notice it in the humidor. This stops the damage from spreading further, and gives me peace of mind that it’ll still perform as intended later on.
