Cigar of the Week: Padron 1926 Maduro No. 6

Cigar of the Week: Padron 1926 Maduro No. 6

Happy Thursday, folks!

Today I want to talk about a cigar that’s been a staple of mine for several months now: the Padron 1926 Maduro No. 6. It’s not often that I smoke the same cigar over and over, and this cigar has been in my hand as frequently as I can make it happen! Why didn’t I try this size before 2020?

Padron 1926 Maduro Review

My first few impressions are usually of gritty leather, earth, and baker’s chocolate up front with a citrusy backend. Soon after, baking spices and dried fruit notes form a second layer of flavor.

Through the nose, those notes are accompanied by a wasabi-like heat that wakes me up faster than accidentally inhaling a scoop of pre-workout. This stick identifies more with Batman than Bruce Wayne.

Burning down further, my favorite moments are when mocha, espresso, and caramel sensations develop – usually at the end of the first third. These tasting notes are beyond rich, delivering targeted flavor bombs like a guided missile. The body is full, the strength level is full, and satisfaction levels are off the charts. This Padron is rowdy in all the right ways.

And while the profile itself may change slightly depending on my mood, allergies, the weather, etc., one thing never does: impeccable construction! There’s nothing worse than looking forward to one of your favorite cigars just to find out that you unwittingly grabbed a dud. With a flavor profile this good, I count my blessings that Padron is one of the best brands in the world for consistent, quality construction.

Myself, I usually try to enjoy these with a Coke Zero or espresso when in a dry country. When I have access to whiskey, however, I always reach for The Dalmore Cigar Malt to set the stage for a wonderful duet that won’t quickly be forgotten.

Tell Us! If you’ve also enjoyed this particular Padron 1926, what were your thoughts?

No.9 Maduro is my go to. I always have a box stocked in my humidor, but I do love the no.6 Maduro. I’ll usually get a 5 pack every 6 months and it won’t last long in the humidor. Great review!
