Firstly, let’s begin by making an apology for posting the Cigar of the Week later than anticipated. I’ve been battling allergies in different regions and couldn’t provide an accurate post until today.
Secondly, holy crap is this cigar good! I’ve smoked more of this cigar than anything else recently, and every time it’s a lesson in humility. I particularly like it first thing in the morning with coffee, but it’s as got a kick on it like you wouldn’t expect from a Davidoff White Label.

This cigar masterfully blends layers upon layers of sweet, spicy, and savory tasting notes together. I haven’t been this enthusiastic about a cigar since the original Chef’s Edition from Davidoff, and a similarly complex rollercoaster can be found inside the White Knight.
I come away with something a little more every time I smoke this cigar, like reading philosophy and unpacking it over days.
My first few puffs this morning are of hay, dark chocolate, cedar, and espresso wrapped in a deceptively smooth, creamy smoking experience. Another couple puffs layer in notes of roasted peanuts and lingering peppercorn. My mouth is practically coated with oils for a long, satisfying finish.
Further still, a sensation like buttered sourdough toast emerges as the chocolate, cedar, and espresso notes become less distinctive and meld into the profile. Pepper continues to make itself known, being found in and after each puff as a suitable contrast to the broad range of flavors. Occasionally a rustic, earthy note rings in the finish just to mess with my head.
Past the first third, White Knight begins to shift yet again and adds subtler, sweeter tasting notes to the background like honey and what I now think is apricot jam. There’s a croissant-like sensation sometimes as well, which brings everything together like The Dude’s rug. Still, pepper, mocha, hay, and cedar form the core welcoming party to most puffs.
I believe this is where I’ll take my leave and continue to ponder the mysteries that are the White Knight. If you’ve also smoked this cigar, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
Cheers to a great weekend!
Suggestions
If you received a White Knight in one of our Cigar of the Month Clubs, I’d highly suggest that you lighter ‘er up and see what you think since they’re limited edition. Or, you can pick some up here in a three pack or box if you don’t already have them tucked away in your humidor.
I’ve had the pleasure of trying the White Knight a few different ways, but my favorites have been black coffee and Lagavulin 16. Something about the bitterness of the coffee and the peat of the scotch really forces the cigar to shine by contrast.
