DUNBARTON POLPETTA REVIEW – DOM

Summary: Roses, wood, and black pepper bring some kick with finesse. Beyond the nice spice, there’s a dark honey note, more floral and robust than sweet. Shoot, I blinked and I’m past the halfway point. This little snack deserves a wink, not a blink. What a hot little firecracker of a smoke. Rawr.

DUNBARTON POLPETTA REVIEW – RICH

No problems at all with burn or draw.

DUNBARTON POLPETTA REVIEW – BEN

Summary: Dusty pepper, toffee sweetness, and salty peanuts get my attention. A little leather and orange zest in the first half too. It’s short and sweet with a medium to fast burn. Hell, it was gone before I knew it. Lol!

If You Like That, You Might Like This: A quickie

Pairing Suggestion: Espresso Martini

Perceived Strength: Medium

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: 5-pack

DUNBARTON POLPETTA REVIEW – TED

Summary:  Kicking off with coffee, earth, black pepper, charred meat, and mineral notes. This is burning really hot, probably because of the void I’m spotting in the center of the filler.

I’m struggling with relights and very light smoke production at the midway point. The profile notes are somewhat indistinguishable. I believe the heat of this cigar is making everything taste like dark toast and charred meat. There’s a little relief in the retro hale with some mineral-laden, lighter umami notes.

It’s actually cooling down in the last bit. The flavors remain dark and heavy though.  Burnt toast, black coffee, charred meat; all with a few dashes of salt, that’s a wrap.

If You Like That, You Might Like This: Smoking one short, heavy-profiled cigar a day

Pairing Suggestion: 100 proof bourbon. This will stand up to anything

Perceived Strength: Full

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: Single

Participants in this blind review were completely unaware of the cigar they were evaluating until all submissions were received and processed. Each participant was asked to answer a summary paragraph, an if/than statement, a pairing suggestion, and a purchase suggestion. Cigars were provided by Small Batch with only the expectations of candid responses. All pictures, information, and formatting were completed by a Coordinator outside of the reviewing process.
